The Opportunity πΌ
The Manufacturing Engineer will develop manufacturing specifications and control systems to produce consistent quality products. This is a hands-on role that requires significant time on the manufacturing floor, not just at a desk. The ideal candidate will be independent, proactive, and able to troubleshoot issues without constant supervision.
Key Responsibilities π
- Spend substantial time on the manufacturing floor (minimum 50%) working directly with equipment and processes
- Independently troubleshoot and solve manufacturing issues without constant supervision
- Lead manufacturing projects from conception through implementation
- Interface with Production, Quality, and R&D to develop manufacturing specifications and control systems
- Validate new equipment and establish processes for optimal production
- Provide technical expertise for hands-on repair and maintenance of manufacturing equipment
- Develop activities, drawings, specifications, and safety requirements for projects
- Write and create SOPs, FMEAs, and control plans
- Coordinate with contractors and maintenance teams to implement solutions
- Travel to East Coast locations occasionally (1-3 trips) to provide training and support
