Key Responsibilities
- Ensure safety remains the top priority for all team members ⚠️
- Troubleshoot process and equipment issues at two North American plants (Maine and South Carolina)
- Plan and execute laboratory experiments, pilot trials, and plant projects with in-depth problem analysis
- Evaluate process equipment, flows, and simulation models to boost operational efficiency and support plant expansions
- Recommend and coordinate CAPEX equipment selection, purchasing, and commissioning (projects in the millions to tens of millions)
- Audit plant processes to identify bottlenecks and propose actionable solutions
- Deliver timely reports, presentations, and memos to communicate findings at various levels
Qualifications
- University degree in engineering (chemical, mechanical, or related discipline) 🎓
- 1-5 years of process engineering experience in manufacturing, ideally in mineral processing or similar industries
- Hands-on experience with equipment like chemical reactors, dewatering systems (e.g., centrifuges), and milling/grinding systems
- Familiarity with plant automation software (e.g., Rockwell PLC systems) or AutoCAD is a plus
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and thrive in a plant environment
- Self-motivated with proven problem-solving skills and the capacity to work independently
