Production Quality Supervisor Role at Personal Care Products Manufacturer
Pave Talent is hiring on behalf of our client, a well-established personal care products manufacturer in Ottawa, IL. This company specializes in producing high-quality personal care products including shampoos, lotions, and liquid soaps, adhering to strict quality standards in a regulated environment.
The successful candidate will supervise a team of approximately 15 quality assurance staff (including 3 shift leads), implement quality control procedures, and collaborate with other departments to continuously improve processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead Quality Assurance teams across three shifts, providing guidance, training, and support for professional growth
- Ensure complete understanding and implementation of AQL principles throughout the quality team
- Effectively allocate resources to meet production deadlines and quality standards, including creating and executing rework plans
- Develop, implement, and enforce quality standards and procedures for all shifts
- Verify critical-to-quality elements including fill weights, lot codes, label integrity, and packaging specifications
- Perform and oversee regular quality checks including first article inspections, end-of-line inspections, and hourly checks
- Identify areas for improvement and collaborate with production teams to resolve quality-related issues
- Lead and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address product non-conformities
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, audits, and corrective actions
- Train, mentor, and coach employees on quality standards and inspection techniques
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role
- Experience in personal care, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, food, or chemical manufacturing industries
- Strong knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), CAPA, and regulatory compliance
- Experience with FDA and ISO compliance in manufacturing environments
- Bachelor's degree in a science field (Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Engineering) preferred but not required if candidate has extensive relevant experience
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail and methodical problem-solving abilities
- Experience with quality assurance methodologies and industry best practices
Job Details:
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 4 PM (first shift)
- Location: Ottawa, IL (on-site)
