What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parking Lot Vacuum Sweeper Operator/Porter position at Pavement Specialties of Idaho, Inc?
Pavement Specialties of Idaho, Inc is looking to hire a Vacuum Sweeper Operator to sweep parking lots of commercial sites and perform occasional outdoor portering activities at commercial retail centers. Vacuum Sweeper Operator Responsibilities:
· Reliably and consistently complete all assigned work shifts.
· Safely operate a motorized sweeper truck and backpack blower, cleaning dirt/debris from parking areas.
· Sweep assigned properties on a service route, clearing debris, trash, etc. thoroughly and efficiently in allotted time, and supporting sealcoat crew lot clean up. This is the primary focus of the position.
· Porter activities include removal and changing of trash can liners at commercial properties, clearing landscaping beds, storefronts and other public-facing areas of debris and trash, and maintaining the overall cleanliness of outdoor lot areas.
· Perform daily equipment inspections and preventative maintenance; make minor adjustments and repairs; clean vehicles thoroughly at conclusion of shift.
· Develop working knowledge of safe operating practices and standard equipment maintenance.
· Become familiar with safe and effective cleaning and sweeping practices.
· Perform and maintain high standards of work performance and self-direction in the field under minimal direct supervision.
· Report all incidents or mechanical failures to supervisors.
· Adhere to traffic safety regulations and exercise caution working in confined lot spaces.
· Maintain accurate sweeping and equipment logs, route and timekeeping records.
· Work effectively as a crew member in both performing individual assigned tasks, and in overall efficiency of the sweeping division.
· Assess and problem solve on the ground; effectively adapt to changing job circumstances, using initiative and discretion within established procedures and guidelines.
Lot Sweeper Operator Requirements:
· High school diploma or GED.
· Valid applicable (Class D) driver’s license.
· Safe driving record and advanced driving skills.
· Availability to work all days of the week during a range of daytime hours.
· Ability to work outside in all weather conditions, operate vehicles, and possess physical ability to walk moderate distances, sit for extended periods of time, bending over and lifting moderately heavy loads.
· Ability to thoroughly carry out written and oral instruction.
· Ability to self-motivate and efficiently manage tasks and time-on-job, with attention to detail.
· Basic familiarity operating power hand tools and motorized equipment and vehicles.
· Possess a cooperative attitude and ability to maintain professional and courteous disposition in interactions with co-workers, supervisors, customers, and the general public.
· Ability to effectively communicate with supervisors and coworkers re: incidents, conditions, job and equipment issues, etc..

This is a part- to full-time position (based on seasonal demand), with a consistent work schedule. Wages range from $17.00 to $19.00 per hour. Benefits include matching 401k, Health insurance, Vision insurance, & Dental insurance.
