Job Title: Adult Education Office Clerk
Job Location: Cedar Street
Reports to: Community Education Director
Job Type: Hourly/Non-Exempt/Sec. 107 Grant-Funded Position
Minimum Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Proficient in all Microsoft suite products and Google applications
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience working in a busy office that manages a diverse offering of programs and activities
· Experience working with students in an adult education setting
· Fluent in the Spanish language
Job Description:
· Manage the front entrance to the adult education program at the Cedar Street building
· Serve as the contact person between the adult education program and partner organizations (MI Works, VBISD, etc.)
· Process and track student enrollment and student progress – data entry
· Run background checks on potential students
· Manage student attendance for the adult education program and for county adult ESL programs
· Receive and make phone calls in a professional manner
· Assist students and teachers
· Track grant related expenditures
· Assist with preparations for classes, meetings, and other activities
· Open and close the building and/or classroom
Salary/Benefits: Starting at $14.33/hour; commensurate with experience
Days/Hours: Monday-Thursday; 7 hours per day (hours include a 30-minute unpaid lunch)
Monday and Wednesday 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Tuesday and Thursday 11:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
