We are seeking to add a full-time Veterinary Assistant (VA) to our team at Paw Springs- Scott’s Hill. The VA focuses on supporting and assisting licensed technicians and veterinarians during patient exams and treatment procedures. They are an important member of the medical team ensuring clients and patients experience outstanding service and care during their visit.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Veterinarian or Veterinary Technician during exams and treatments; safely handle and restrain pets during exams, addressing any issues promptly and safely.
- Complete veterinary assisting care within the state scope of practice such as blood draws, IV catheter placement, taking radiographs, performing in-house lab work, and monitoring patient care during surgery.
- Educate pet owners on general health care and preventative measures as advised by Veterinarian or Veterinary Technician.
- Ensure complete and accurate medical records; updating patient chart and invoice as appropriate.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work equipment/tools and environment such as exam room(s), treatment room, and client waiting areas.
Additional Details
- Previous experience working as a veterinary assistant is required.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including attention to detail, communication, active listening, and genuine care and enthusiasm are required.
- Safety is critical for all team members and pets; ability to safely handle animals in various situations and environments is required.
