JOB TITLE: Food Service Helper (Temporary, may transition into probationary position)
LOCATION: Food Services Department
RATE OF PAY: $17.47-$18.63/hour, dependent upon prior related experience
QUALIFICATIONS: This position involves assisting cooks in phases of food preparation. Assist in preparation of salads and desserts; Cleans, washes and otherwise prepares vegetables & fruits for cooking; wash dishes; clean work areas & equipment; handles food and equipment in accordance with sanitary practices; may place food on trays according to menu and diet requirements; related work as required.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with food preparation and service in a fast-paced restaurant or catering environment
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are met in accordance with food safety regulations
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting guests with their dining needs
- Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed
- Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely food delivery
- Handle cash transactions and process payments accurately
Experience:
- Previous experience in the catering, hospitality, or restaurant industry is preferred
- Knowledge of food handling and safety procedures is required
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
Please note that this position may require standing for long periods of time and lifting up to 25 pounds.
