Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Habilitation Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in providing support and guidance to individuals with developmental disabilities, helping them achieve their personal goals and improve their quality of life. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a passion for working with diverse populations.
Duties
- Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities in various settings, including home and community environments.
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and enhance daily living skills.
- Assist clients in developing social skills, self-care routines, and community integration.
- Administer medication as prescribed and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
- Collect data on client progress and behaviors to inform treatment plans and adjustments.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and support services.
- Utilize American Sign Language as needed to facilitate communication with clients who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Engage in caregiving tasks that promote independence and dignity for clients.
