Job Description
Position Title: Shift Manager
Department: Casino
Reports To: Manager/Assistant Manager
FLSA Designation: Non-Exempt
SUMMARY: Administers and directs personnel and activities under the direction of the Manager/Assistant Manager
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
• Administers, instructs and trains team members on policies and procedures.
• Acts as a Role Model for all employees and team members on assigned shift.
• Assists in reviewing and evaluating team members’ performance.
• Monitor performance of all assigned departments.
• Ensures daily activities are being completed and reported accurately.
• Ensures the health, safety, and welfare of all employees and visitors within the casino.
• Provides exceptional customer service to guests at all times.
• Resolves issues and complaints with employees, visitors, and customers in a timely and accurate manner.
• Resolve EGM malfunctions appropriately.
• Maintains knowledge of Pawnee Tribal Gaming Commission rules and regulations.
• Maintains consistent and punctual attendance.
• Performs other duties assigned by supervisor or administrator.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises casino employees during assigned shift.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general educational degree (GED) required. Associates degree preferred. Demonstrated leadership experience preferred. Previous gaming supervisory or gaming management experience of at least one (1) year preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must be able to obtain gaming license.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, vendors, managers, and customers. Ability to write routine correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Must maintain professional behavior and possess exceptional customer and employee service skills at all times. Basic keyboarding and office skills are preferred.
