Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and handling, ensuring the well-being of pets in our facility. This role involves providing daily care for animals, maintaining cleanliness in the kennel area, and assisting with various tasks related to pet care and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for dogs and other animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for all animals by regularly cleaning kennels, play areas, and equipment.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to management.
- Assist with animal handling during check-ins and check-outs, ensuring a positive experience for both pets and their owners.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their animals’ needs and any relevant updates.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure high standards of animal care are met consistently.
Experience
- Previous experience in a kennel or veterinary setting is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with animal handling techniques and basic pet care practices is essential.
- Experience in customer service is beneficial to enhance interactions with pet owners.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when managing larger breeds or moving equipment.
