The Director of Development will spearhead all fundraising efforts for PAWS Shelter of Central
Texas. This senior leadership position will work closely with the board of directors and the
executive director to design and implement fundraising strategies aimed at engaging donors,
including high-net-worth individuals, family offices, corporate partners, and the broader Austin
community. This is a role for a self-driven professional with a passion for nonprofit work, a
proven track record in donor engagement, and the ability to independently execute development
strategies.
Key Responsibilities :
Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies in collaboration with the
board and executive director.
Cultivate relationships with high-net-worth individuals, family offices, companies, and
other potential donors to secure major gifts.
Lead donor engagement efforts, ensuring meaningful interactions that strengthen
relationships with current and potential donors.
Oversee grant writing and identify new grant opportunities to support our mission.
Coordinate fundraising events, campaigns, and initiatives to increase financial support
and community awareness.
Represent PAWS Shelter of Central Texas at community and donor events to build and
maintain our local network.
Track fundraising metrics and prepare reports to measure and improve outcomes.
Qualifications :
At least 5 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or gift solicitation,
preferably in the nonprofit sector.
Strong knowledge of nonprofit operations and fundraising best practices.
Proven ability to engage with high-level donors and corporate partners.
Self-motivated and independent, with the ability to drive initiatives forward with minimal
supervision.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Bachelor's degree preferred; GED or higher required.
Based in Austin or the surrounding area, with local connections to the broader
community.

Compensation :
Base Salary : $60,000 - $80,000 (based on experience).
Annual Performance Bonus : Up to $50,000.
