Kennel Manager assistant

Paws with inn is seeking a kennel manager assistant to join our team. He/she is responsible for supervising the store and kennel. The candidate must have proper dog handling skills and basic knowledge of dog behavior. He/She must be physically able to handle dogs of all sizes and maintain proper cleaning protocols. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: supervising and maintaining a safe environment for all dogs and staff; cleaning; feeding and watering; administering medications; record keeping; and taking pictures of pets. This position includes daily dog handling; therefore, experience with dog handling is preferred. The kennel manager must also possess strong people and customer relation skills, be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and be a team player.

Requirements

Previous experience in a similar environment working with and handling dogs is preferred but we are also willing to train the right candidate. Qualified candidates must feel comfortable and enjoy working with dogs. Must have good oral and written skills, work well in a team environment, utilize good judgment, and be able to follow both written and oral instructions. Must have a valid driver's license. Must be willing to work holidays and weekends if necessary.

Primary Duties:

· Helps to manage kennel staff work schedules
· Oversee and maintain daycare and boarding schedules
· Guide, direct and motivate team
· Supervise the staff and ensure they are following the planned schedule.
· Ensure special instructions (from owners) are being followed
· Provide care and basic needs of animals in our care
· Administer prescribed medications to pets and keep a record of times the medications were administered.
· Ensure you know all dogs in play/training groups and can properly identify them. If not, request assistance from other staff or management.
· Answer phones and oversee reception duties

· Available to work holidays and weekends.
· Ability to arrive to work on time and have reliable transportation.
· Good leadership ability to lead the kennel staff.
· Must be comfortable working with dogs of all ages, breeds, and temperaments

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour

• 10 hour shift
• 12 hour shift
• 4 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Evening shift

Work Days:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
