What are the responsibilities and job description for the Junior Dog Trainer position at Pawsitive K9 Solutions?
We're looking for a Junior Dog Trainer to help out our busy Dog Training business in Long Beach, CA.
Responsible for daily duties of our puppy day school program include but not limited to:
- Conduct positive reinforcement individual and group training sessions with our Puppy Day School and Board & Train dogs, covering basic obedience, advanced cues, and behavior modification.
- Develop customized training plans based on the specific needs and goals of each client.
- Assess dog behavior and provide guidance
- Educate clients on proper dog handling techniques, positive reinforcement methods, and effective communication with their pets.
- Monitor and document the progress of each dog, adjusting training plans as necessary to achieve desired results.
- Maintain a safe and clean training environment
- Collaborate with other trainers and staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive team environment.
- Willing and able to communicate directly with pet parents about their dog's training including homework and follow-up exercises to reinforce training.
- Reliable, responsible, punctual, dependable and detail oriented.
- Hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Be courteous and professional at all times
