The Multilingual Learner (MLL) Tutor is responsible for providing MLL tutoring services to students, guiding and assisting with a range of activities to facilitate student learning and understanding by supporting English language development in alignment with WIDA standards and Come Core academic standards.

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
The Multilingual Learner (MLL) Tutor is responsible for providing MLL tutoring services to students, guiding and assisting with a range of activities to facilitate student learning and understanding by supporting English language development in alignment with WIDA standards and Come Core academic standards.
EXEMPLARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Tutor students individually or in a scheduled group using evidence-based strategies to support language acquisition and literacy development
- Support MLL students in developing English language proficiency skills in the domains of speaking, listening, reading and writing
- Assist in developing English language proficiency skills
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and MLL specialists to ensure all tutoring needs are met
- Performs other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Expert in MLL instruction, curriculum, and program development
- Knowledge of tutoring/learning materials and instructional aides
- Expert in working with various groups of students and understanding learning styles
- Ability to relate to a diverse population of students
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work effectively independently while contributing to the team
- Organized and prepared
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students and supervisors
- Proficient in basic computer programs
