Building Maintenance: Master Plumber position provides plumbing services to all school department buildings, specifically identifying repair and/or replacement needs and ensuring compliance with accessibility and safety codes/regulations. This position reports directly to the Director of Facilities in collaboration with the Assistant Director of Facilities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Analyzes blueprints, schematics, and drawings of plumbing systems to determine the efficient installation of new or upgraded systems and repairs.
Troubleshoots and diagnoses failures in plumbing/irrigation systems to identify repair and/or replacement needs.
Responsible for installing plumbing systems and fixtures (e.g., hot water heaters, drinking fountains, etc.), providing enhanced and/or upgraded capabilities.
Fabricate equipment parts to meet specialty needs and/or replacing unavailable parts. Inspect buildings and facilities to evaluate conditions, identify necessary repairs, and recommend preventive maintenance.
Regularly informs the Facilities Administration staff verbally and in writing to document the progress and status of projects (e.g., work order status, activity logs, etc.)
Maintains and transports tools, supplies, and equipment to ensure the availability of materials required at a job site.
Requests equipment and supplies to maintain Inventory and ensure the availability of Items required to complete the necessary installation and/or repair.
Responsible for meeting with contractors for upcoming projects, pricing, or review of issues related to equipment and fixtures.
Participates in meetings, workshops, trainings, and seminars to convey and/or gather
information required to perform job functions.
Responds to emergencies during and after hours to resolve immediate plumbing concerns.
As directed, perform plowing and snow remova! operations
Ability to perform other duties assigned by the Director or Assistant Director of Facilities to meet the specific needs of the Pawtucket School Department and its students.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid driver's license
Possession of State of Rhode Island Journeyman's Plumber license
2 years of experience as a Plumber
Proficiency in working with computers
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate's Degree
Previous experience in the school department setting
