What are the responsibilities and job description for the Exchange Program – Host Family Visitor (Independent Contractor) position at PAX-Program of Academic Exchange?
PAX - Program of Academic Exchange (www.pax.org) is a not-for-profit educational organization that provides global education and exchange opportunities for students, host families, schools, and communities. Each year nearly 1000 high school students from around the world participate in international exchange through PAX.
PAX is seeking a Second Visit Representative (SVR) to conduct brief site visits to host family homes in and around Round Rock, TX. This is a part-time, independent contractor position.
The Second Visitor makes a brief visit to the host family home after the exchange student has arrived in the community. The purpose of the visit is to ensure that the student is living in a safe environment. Second Visitors are given a checklist of items to look for during their visit and submit a brief report online after completing the visit.
Ideal candidates:
- Parents, teachers, retirees, college students, or another responsible community member
- Professional appearance and communication skills
- Previous experience working with high school students or families a plus
Candidates must have:
- Reliable car (most visits are not accessible by public transportation)
- Computer and internet access, since assignments are sent by email and reports must be submitted online
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
Candidates are required to submit an online application and background check and complete a short training module online before starting the position. This is an independent contractor position that is paid per visit. The visits take 10-15 minutes (plus driving time) and you receive $50 for each visit completed.
