OSF’s recently launched WPS National Action Plan Academy is focused on engaging countries and key policymakers to create and implement high-impact National Action Plans (NAPs) on WPS.
The WPS NAP Academy Has a Three-pronged Approach
OSF is seeking a Project Manager to support its WPS NAP Academy. We require a motivated self-starter who is passionate about peace and equality, able to work well in a small team, and has the savvy to turn obstacles into opportunities. This role is ideal for someone who is equally comfortable taking the lead role on projects, as well as willing to pitch in at all levels. The Project Manager is a new position in the OSF team. The Project Manager for the WPS NAP Academy will provide additional research and support to the broader OSF team as needed. OSF is a high energy, entrepreneurial, and highly collaborative environment. This position requires the ability to produce high quality results and work independently.

- Regional Convening: The WPS NAP Academy partners with a regional or multilateral organization to convene a multi-country and multi-stakeholder workshop that builds regional understanding, solidarity, and skillset on WPS, resulting in a stronger regional capacity to develop and implement high-impact NAPs.
- Technical Assistance: Through close collaboration and relationship-building, the WPS NAP Academy provides targeted and country-specific technical assistance and guidance to support the development and implementation of high-impact NAPs.
- Thought Leadership: The WPS NAP Academy conducts policy research, outreach, and innovative programming to enable government officials to more effectively develop and implement high-impact NAPs.

This position is located in Washington, DC. The Project Manager will be expected to work out of our DC office location on a hybrid work schedule (90% remote).
Primary Responsibilities
- Act as the liaison with key partners. Under the direction of the Associate Director, manage communication with key partners and participating governments, including regular communication to build trusted relationships between partners, civil society and OSF.
- Proactively work with the Associate Director and partners to identify solutions to challenges, and track results on WPS National Action Plans.
- Work closely with the Associate Director to stand-up the WPS National Action Plan Academy operationally and strategically.
- Coordinate logistics and administration, and support with partners and mid-to-senior level policy decision-makers (USG, participating governments, etc.);
- Support original content development, training materials creation and delivery, curriculum development as needed under the direction of the Associate Director;
- Assist the OSF Associate Director and Vice President in NAP Academy meeting strategic objectives;
- Communications duties: contributing to research and writing, including producing web content, policy briefs, research reports, and other documents as needed to achieve the goals of this fast-paced program.
- Work with the OSF team to support OSF partnerships including logistics, event planning, administrative needs.
- Respond to support requests from participating NAP Academy countries as appropriate. This may include conducting research, developing curricula, coordinating consultations, etc.
- Assist with and conduct, facilitate, and produce original research in the form of policy briefs, research reports, blog posts, and other documents as needed using both primary and secondary sources.
- Conduct off-site advance work solo, or with a team as needed; work closely with official government agencies on the OSF WPS NAP Academy objectives under the direction of the Associate Director.
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject (e.g., International Relations, Political Science, etc.). Master’s degree in relevant subject preferred.
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience. Demonstrated experience conducting Women, Peace and Security-related training preferred.
- Passionate about equality and international peace and security issues, particularly Women, Peace and Security.
- Ability to thrive in high pressure environments. Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Ability to handle sensitive or confidential information and situations, demonstrating poise, tact and diplomacy with a positive attitude.
- Demonstrated experience managing competing deadlines.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Superb oral and written communication skills in English.
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Suite, and other programs); willingness to learn new software to support the goal of the program.
