JOB TYPE: This is a full-time position and will be eligible for full benefits following a brief probationary period.
LOCATION: Primary reporting location is Omaha, Nebraska. You should expect to travel to your assigned job sites within the client area of responsibility.
COMPENSATION: $160k - $180k per year depending on how you interview and how many years of experience you have as a Project manager in the Utilities industry.
POSITION SUMMARY: As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing various projects. This role involves coordinating resources, managing budgets, and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within scope. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, contractors, and stakeholders, to deliver projects that align with our clients’ goals and standards. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills, experience in utility or energy sectors, and a proven record of accomplishment in successfully delivering complex projects.
What you will be responsible for: (Disclaimer: The lists below are not all inclusive)
- Assess project risk and formulate contingency plans to mitigate the risks.
Implement quality standards, review project deliverables, and communicate variances accordingly. - Identify and communicate lessons learned and incorporate prior lessons learned as best practices intoprojects.
- Track and manage project compliance (non-regulatory and regulatory)
Identify project performance issues, analyze, and address them in a timely manner. - Responsible for project tracking, analysis and communication of project cost, scope, and schedule.
Duties you can expect day-to-day:
- Effectively complete multiple projects concurrently and provide guidance to engineering on producing complex risk and alternative analyses, studies, and conceptual designs for presentation to project sponsor.
- Lead project meetings, arrange for meeting minutes, and distribute to team members. Establish and lead project team with agreed-upon roles and responsibilities.
- Obtain commitment on detailed work plans including schedule, cost, resource, contingency and communication plans.
- Act as a liaison between owners, subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, project team, management, and other departments to obtain approval as needed. Notify project stakeholder immediately if the project is forecast to exceed the approved budget.
QUALIFICATIONS:
You must have the following: (Minimum)
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or advanced business management.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certified
• 10 years of experience in project management, project controls, engineering, and/or construction in a regulated utility industry.
• Experience managing construction projects
• Utility Project Management experience
• Superior ability to interface with and across supporting organizations
• Excellent communication and presentation skills Duties
• Superior Microsoft Office suite experience and skillset
If you have the following it will be a big plus: (Preferred)
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Master’s in engineering or MBA
