This position directly supports the Sales Managers, National Account Manager, Business Development Manager of Merchant Accounts, and the Chief of Staff. This position will perform underwriting, customer service activities for merchant sales including document collection, data entry, database maintenance, and sales support activities as requested.
The Jr Underwriter plays a crucial role in onboarding, training, and providing ongoing support to Payarc Sales Account Executives. This position requires proactive task management and the ability to make independent decisions to enhance the efficiency of sales support, client onboarding, and customer service activities. Effective management, delegation, and independent decision-making are essential for maintaining productivity, ensuring efficiency of the department.

Responsibilities & Duties
- Underwriting Decisions: Independently underwrite low-risk accounts (up to $10,000 Monthly Volume, $250 High-Ticket) before final review.
- Collaborate with the underwriting team by conducting a periodically review of our existing merchants to ensure compliance with Underwriting Guidelines and risk standards.
- Review and make decisions on Agent Applications, approving or declining based on background checks and account verification results.
- Recommend risk mitigation techniques to minimize financial loss exposure to the Bank when creating and/or approving proposed risk structures for a merchant account.
- Subject Matter Expert for conducting training for Sales Account Executives and merchants on the application portal.
- Educate agents and merchants on application processes and required documents.
- Manage tasks delegated to others to ensure application completeness, with accuracy and timeliness.
- Ensuring compliance guidelines are met by reviewing documentation accuracy and assisting with inquiries.
- Partner with agents, provide internal support, and handle additional duties.
- Advising Agents on approvals, holds, or declines, and communicate decisions clearly.
- Monitor pending accounts, follow up weekly, and generate reports for management.
