What are the responsibilities and job description for the Benefit Administration Analyst position at Paychex?
Coordinates and conducts the daily administration and analysis of employee benefit and wellbeing programs that serve Paychex employees. Responsible for the day to day analytical administration of the data integrity and works cross-functionally to support the Benefit Operations and Wellness teams.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the integrity of Benefit, Well-being and other Employee Programs, enrollment data with the coordination of the benefit system of record, HRIS system, and vendor systems. Including responding to data audits, daily error reports, data correction and troubleshooting, while maintaining close communication with the appropriate subject matter experts.
- Supports special projects and initiatives of all areas of Benefits and Well-Being Department
- Oversees the daily file feeds to the various health, welfare and well-being vendors to ensure a successful transmission. Troubleshoots issues, working directly with vendors when necessary, related to websites used in the operations of all programs, to assure prompt and satisfactory resolution for users. Exercises independent judgment to escalate issues and make recommendations, as needed.
- Creates monthly benefit vendor invoices and administration payments. Assuring accuracy, appropriateness and timely payments.
- Answer all first level benefit and well- being inquiries via email, IM or phone.
- Manages the New Hire Enrollment Status process by running scheduled reports and reaching out to newly hired employees to ensure timely and complete enrollment.
- Calculates missed benefit deductions for new hires and employees with qualifying events. Coordinates with the effected employee and Corporate Payroll to process the retroactive payroll deductions.
- Communicates and collects missed benefit payments for those employees on leave of absence and returning from leave of absence. Responsible for outreach to employees exceeding 26 weeks of LOA regarding benefit termination.
- Work closely with third party vendor on required dependent documentation administration.
- Provides assistance on court ordered documents such as medical support orders, qualified domestic relations orders, local health care exchanges and other government inquiries.
- Runs reports from numerous Paychex databases and vendor portals to track, edit and report activity in order to identify opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, management, System Operations, Health or Wellness, Math or finance - Preferred
- 1 year of experience in benefit and or employee plan experience. Must be familiar with benefit enrollment systems and HRIS systems.
Compensation
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $17.07 - $26.82 per hour. Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
