Overview
Manages accounting functions of the company and the preparation and distribution of timely financial reports. Maintains an adequate system of internal controls in the financial reporting process. Reports to Director of External Reporting.
Responsibilities
Ownership over balance sheet accounts including, but not limited to : corporate cash & investments, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, intangibles, and compensation accruals. Review of monthly and quarterly journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations prepared by the General Accounting team.
- Maintains appropriate accounting controls, as well as develops and implements new internal controls and accounting policies, where appropriate, to ensure adherence to and understanding of accounting policies, compliance with Sarbanes Oxley, and other procedures at all levels.
- Identifies and implements opportunities to improve and automate processes, ensuring financial data integrity and solid accounting controls. Owns and manages ad hoc project requests and teams; motivates and drives project teams forward while providing support and gaining buy-in from Senior Management.
- Manages, directs and develops General accounting staff; including hiring, performance management, development, and training staff in all departmental processes and procedures to ensure employees meet goals and expectations.
- Works closely with the External Reporting Team on financial data to ensure regulatory reporting needs are met.
- Works closely with internal and external auditors on financial audits.
- Assists various business partners with variance explanations against both plan / forecast and prior year periods.

Compensation
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $115,000 - $130,000 annually. Please remember that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and / or experience, which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
