Description
Reports directly to the Manager of Editorial, and works closely with the creative services team to proofread content and communications geared toward current customers, prospective customers and/or prospective employees.
Responsibilities
- Proofread all types of marketing materials, including websites, landing pages, brochures, slicks, blog posts, direct mail, newsletters (internal and external), imprinted items, print ads, digital ads, billboards, videos, white papers, infographics, presentations, social media and more.
- Fact-check all types of marketing materials.
- Execute with a target of total accuracy for spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax, context and usage.
- Ensure consistency in messaging and brand voice in all marketing materials produced.
- Write short-form copy when needed from pre-existing approved copy (e.g., web preview text for content to be downloaded).
- Help streamline and improve the approval process.
Education/Certification:
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in English, journalism, marketing or a related field
- Demonstrated expertise in attention to detail, even on deadline.
- Knowledge of AP Style is required.
- Computer proficiency is required, including Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Strong project management skills are required.
- Ability to handle a number of high-priority projects simultaneously and effectively.
- Open to constructive criticism for professional growth.
- Self-starter, able to work independently.
- Self-educator, able to accumulate knowledge related to the products, services, industry, markets and resources affecting the payroll and HR spaces.
- Able to drive execution by working well with others across the team, department and organization.
