About the Job:
Payette Healthcare of Cascadia seeks a skilled Culinary Aide to support our dining services team. This role involves assisting in the preparation and presentation of high-quality meals for our residents.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation and portioning of food according to menu plans and instructions from supervisors;
- Maintenance of optimal food temperatures during preparation and service to ensure food safety and quality;
- Accurate serving of resident meals/snacks according to planned menus and diet orders;
- Proper labeling, dating, and storage of food according to established policies;
- Cleaning and sanitizing of dishes, kitchen items, and work areas according to established procedures;
- Performance of cleaning assignments according to established policies and utilization of proper cleaning chemicals;
- Assistance in receiving, storing, and verifying invoices for incoming food, supplies, etc. as indicated by supervisors;
- Timely reporting of inadequate stock levels to supervisors;
- Economical use of food supplies and equipment to prevent waste;
- Maintenance of kitchen security and operation of equipment according to manufacturer and supervisory direction;
- Completion of tasks according to established time schedules;
- Making recommendations to supervisors regarding enhancements to recipes, menus, production, and service of food, equipment, etc. to improve food quality;
- Collaboration with team members across various departments of the Nursing Center;
- Fostering positive relationships with residents, families, and visitors;
- Ensuring punctuality and regular attendance for assigned shifts.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred;
- Food Handlers Permit, if required per state regulations;
- Minimum age requirement of 18 years due to federal child labor laws;
- Desirable: six months of experience in long-term care environments;
- Experience in food service is a plus.
