About the Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Culinary Aide to join our team at Payette Healthcare of Cascadia. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting our food service team in providing high-quality meals to our residents.
Main Responsibilities:
- Preparation and portioning of food according to menu plans and supervisor instructions;
- Maintenance of optimal food temperatures during preparation and service;
- Accurate serving of resident meals/snacks according to planned menus and diet orders;
- Proper labeling, dating, and storage of food according to established policies;
- Cleaning and sanitizing of dishes, kitchen items, and work areas according to established procedures;
- Receiving, storing, and verifying invoices for incoming food, supplies, etc. as indicated by supervisors;
- Reporting inadequate stock levels to supervisors in a timely manner;
- Using food supplies and equipment efficiently and economically to prevent waste;
- Maintaining kitchen security and operating equipment according to manufacturer and supervisory direction;
- Completing tasks according to established time schedules;
- Making recommendations to supervisors regarding enhancements to recipes, menus, production, and service of food, equipment, etc. to improve food quality;
- Collaborating with team members across various departments of the Nursing Center;
- Fostering positive relationships with residents, families, and visitors;
- Ensuring punctuality and regular attendance for assigned shifts.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred;
- Food Handlers Permit, if required per state regulations;
- At least 18 years of age due to federal child labor laws;
- Desirable: six months experience in long-term care environments;
- Experience in food service is a plus.
