We’re looking for a very talented performance analyst to join a small but dynamic performance team, reporting to the VP of Performance and Scale, in the role of Senior Performance Analyst. You should have the curiosity and insight to identify potential future problems in the performance of our production system and drive to solutions through analysis in the lab. You should have superb analytical skills that you can apply broadly.
This position supplements our existing performance team so that he can focus on the hardest problems. This position will additionally help orchestrate procedural work for the entire team so that we can all work more efficiently.
Job Description
- Create dashboards, both in Looker and Datadog, to help provide insight into current performance
- Use these insights to help identify future performance bottlenecks
- Use these insights to conduct and direct experiments to test specific load conditions
- Add alerts to notify us of potential performance issues
- Run performance load tests in the lab and analyzing the results, which will involve some scripting
- Write up and publishing the results of individual performance experiments in the lab
- Write up and publishing more comprehensive summaries of overall performance
- Extend Javascript-based performance tests
- Work with other teams to collect timely client scaling information and establish KPIs
Qualifications
- Proficiency in data analysis tools: Looker, Datadog, MySQL, Excel
- Strong understanding of statistical methods and data modeling techniques
- Self-motivation in finding potential problems and running them to ground
- Communication skills to prepare write-ups for study results
- Organizational skills to help track and plan a stream of performance studies
- Ability to work closely with engineers to verify the results of their work
- Skill at working with other teams and communicating results and plans outward
- Demonstrated leadership skills
