Job Description Summary: We are seeking a highly strategic, creative, and data-oriented Associate Director of Product Marketing to join the Venmo Marketing team. This individual will report directly into the Head of Product Marketing, Venmo. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the overall product vision, product strategy, positioning, and go-to-market approach for Venmo’s expanding portfolio of products. The ideal candidate is an experienced marketing leader who excels at collaborating cross-functionally, analyzing market trends and consumer insights, and driving product adoption and usage alongside Venmo's Commercial and Product teams. This job requires people management, with expectations of direct management of more junior team members. In this role, you will set Venmo up for success in our next era of marketing. The Venmo Marketing team is a critical driver of Venmo’s growth trajectory, and the Product Marketing team specifically steers Venmo’s orientation to our customers via a deep understanding of the external landscape and strategic delivery of our evolving value proposition across all channels and partnerships. As a Product Marketing Lead, you will be responsible for crafting product marketing vision and narrative, partnering closely with cross-functional teams across Venmo on inbound and outbound product marketing initiatives to deliver on Venmo’s strategic goals. Job Overview: We are seeking a highly strategic, creative, and leadership-oriented Associate Director of Product Marketing to join the Venmo Marketing team. This individual will report directly into the Head of Product Marketing, Venmo, and will play a pivotal role in shaping the overall product strategy, positioning, and go-to-market approach for Venmo’s expanding portfolio of products. The ideal candidate is an experienced marketing leader who excels at collaborating cross-functionally, analyzing market trends and consumer insights, and driving product adoption and usage. This individual will also have people management responsibilities and will manage a team of PMM’s to set Venmo up for success and future growth. Key Responsibilities: Product Strategy & Positioning: Develop and refine the product positioning, messaging, and value propositions for Venmo’s suite of products, ensuring they resonate with our target audiences and differentiate us in the market. Go-to-Market Leadership: Lead the end-to-end go-to-market strategy for your products, including product launches, feature updates, and ongoing marketing campaigns to drive awareness, consideration, adoption, and growth. Market Insights & Competitive Analysis: Work with Consumer Insights to conduct market research and competitive analyses to inform product development and marketing strategies. Stay ahead of industry trends to identify new opportunities. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Commercial, Design, and Consumer Insights to align on product vision, roadmap, and market needs. Act as the voice of the customer in product development discussions. Creative Excellence: Work with your Marketing and Creative counterparts to uphold creative excellence throughout your campaigns. Performance Metrics & Optimization: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and measure the success of product marketing initiatives. Use data-driven insights to optimize campaigns and inform future strategies. Partner with Marketing Analytics to post-mortem launches and set us up for a successful learning agenda. Team Leadership & Development: Manage and mentor a team of more junior product marketing managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning. Stakeholder Management: Effectively engage senior stakeholders across the company, keeping them informed about performance and quickly escalating and unblocking any challenges. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA preferred. You have 8-10 years of product marketing experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, ideally within tech, fintech, or consumer digital products. Proven track record of successfully launching and growing digital products in a highly competitive market. Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of market research, data analysis, and customer insights. Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex product features into clear, compelling messaging. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and work effectively in a fast paced, dynamic environment. People management experience, with a vested interest in setting more junior team members up for short and long-term career success. You have passion for product and are a student of culture.
