Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Support program management for regulatory relations processes, including the global regulatory inquiry response and examination processes and regulatory engagement strategy plan development
- Maintain best practices for supporting global regulatory examination management, including liaising with internal stakeholders and regulators through all phases of the exam process
- Assist in developing and managing global licensing strategies (e.g., EU Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation)
- Conduct oversight of global licensing (e.g., Monetary Authority of Singapore Digital Payments Token license) and reporting execution activities
- Serve as a credible business partner across functional units (e.g., Product, Engineering, etc.), providing advice and support, as needed
- Draft and oversee development of responses to regulatory inquiries
- Engage critical stakeholders in problem solving issues with regulatory impact
- Draft committee and other governance materials related to regulatory engagement, as appropriate
- Perform additional tasks as assigned
- Prior experience in regulatory compliance supporting digital currencies and blockchain technology (e.g., NY Department of Financial Services Part 200) – Experience with the Cross-border Payment industry and/or stablecoins is a plus.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects with competing priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to change.
- Solid critical and analytical thinking, decision making, and innovative problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal/written (and PowerPoint) communication skills, including a proven track record of effective communication with regulatory agencies.
- Proven ability to interact well with internal management and external contacts, including regulators.
- Ability to credibly challenge solutions and ensure timely escalation of issues and concerns.
- Ability to think strategically while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Knowledge of the financial services compliance and / or regulatory environment is required
- Bachelor’s degree required with 6-8 years or equivalent experience.
- Compliance experience in the financial services industry, with financial services licensing and reporting experience, and/or regulatory examination management experience preferred.
