General Overview: You are extremely important to our operations! Your way of being with guests upon their entrance will set the tone for their experience with us here in Downtown Lima. Welcome and warmly greet everyone upon arrival. Answer telephone calls, take call ahead seating and manage seating in a timely and efficient manner for our patrons.
Report to: Owner, Manager on Duty, Bar Manager, Operation Assistant
Job Type: Hourly (Wage based on experience), Monday through Saturday, Morning and Night
Qualifications, Tasks, Duties, Responsibilities:
- Take great care of our guests, greet everyone at the door and engage every customer with a smile.
- Always have a smile on your face.

- Must love exceptional food, modern drink and have exquisite style.
- Ability to work under pressure with grace and ease.
- Open the door for guests entering and leaving the restaurant.
- Greet new guests with direct eye contact within 1 second of entering The Met.
- When immediate seating is limited, record guest names and number of people in party in QSR and, give guests an appropriate wait time.
- When seating guests, refer to the beer menu board on the TV or the Digital Pour App.
- If need be, direct waiting guests to the bar or Lobby area and prompt them to order a drink or share plate while they wait.
- Always be aware of the outside seating and walkway area to assist with table service or greeting on the patio.
- Always maintaining a professional, courteous attitude when confronted with hostile, impatient or irate guests.
- Seat guests based on guest preferences and balancing of customer flow in service stations with help of QSR. Make sure that the sections for servers are clearly defined and rotated appropriately.
- When seating a table, make sure they have a menu, slammer and water carafe. Alert the server they are sat either in person or on your ear piece.
- Complete side work when assigned by management but realize that your #1 goal is the customer’s happiness.
- Refrain from smoking during your shift.
- Complete side work in a timely manner.
- Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
- Follow schedule online through Compeat.
- Maintain clean uniform and comply with dress code.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, Personal Attributes:
- Excellent verbal and telephone skills, must be able to communicate clearly with staff and patrons in a caring and friendly way.
- Utilize technology (QSR, ALOHA) for better guest experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and confidence.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours per shift)
- Team Player with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work fast
- Must take pride in your appearance and the appearance of The Met.
- Flexible availability including nights, weekends and holidays.
