To help us fuel accelerated growth, we are looking for an experienced BSA / AML Investigations Analyst. This role offers a flexible hybrid work environment where you will have a blend of in office days and home office days during the work week.
Position Overview:
This position maintains a high degree of responsibility and serves a critical role in ensuring Skrill USA, Inc. ongoing compliance. This position is responsible for the review, assessment, and the due diligence of consumers as part of BSA/AML program to aide in the detection of potential money laundering, terrorist financing and fraud using a risk-based approach while applying the company’s BSA/AML and OFAC Compliance Program and related policies and procedures.
Your responsibilities would include:
- Research, analyze and investigate customer account behavior for potential BSA, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), CFT or fraud related suspicious activity.
- Maintain an understanding of AML regulations; current money laundering schemes; and investigative techniques required to detect such schemes.
- Recognize and escalate potential high risk suspicious activity to Compliance Management for possible law enforcement and/or regulatory referrals.
- Research and respond to regulatory agencies, including law enforcement agencies, in view of applicable regulatory laws and regulations.
- Achieve and sustain a high level of quality, accuracy, and efficiency in the firm’s response to AML and OFAC matters.
- Provide guidance to business partners in matters of AML Compliance.
- Review rules, alerts and data for case investigation and use in determination of suspicious activity
- Analyze data gathered and make a SAR/No SAR decision – document for required recordkeeping
- Decision and action to request EDD, updated materials, block, or close account
- Update fields in case management system to correspond with the activity being filed on for recordkeeping purposes
- Provide timely AML and OFAC guidance to business partners and training of new associates or escalate to compliance management
- Review new referrals, escalations, or internal suspicious activity reports within internal service level agreement.
- Assist in training opportunities as needed
- Utilize third party service providers and internal systems to perform searches on subjects being investigated as part of CDD/EDD/KYC for customers and merchants
- Review, research, document and respond to external information requests - Exchange of information pursuant to the 314(b) provisions of the USA PATRIOT Act
- Complete dashboards and metrics regarding daily activities
- The analyst will be collaborating with Compliance Management and other SME’s on rules, risk detection scenarios, patterns of suspicious activity identified for purposes of development, implementation and or update to Skrill USA’s systems and/or tools
- Other duties as assigned and may include due diligence processes, other compliance operational processes, testing and quality programs
You Must Have:
- Demonstrated experience and comfortable making critical decisions in a time sensitive and regulatory mandated environment
- Experience working with money laundering/terrorist financing/SAR or equivalent investigations preferred
- Must have demonstrated experience in applying strong problem solving, judgment and analysis to detect and deter money laundering activities
- Ability to work independently, but cohesively within a team of specialized associates, with high integrity and ethics
- Highly self-motivated with excellent communication skills
- Ability to manage and analyze data
- Excellent written and oral formats, including presentations to regulators, auditors, analysts, senior managers
- Exceptional analytical skills, judgment, and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure
- Maintain currency in anti-money laundering rules and regulations and compliance examination techniques and best practices. Adept at analyzing and communicating market information
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, such as MS Excel and Word, database management programs and Internet browser-based applications
- Comfortably uses Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, and use of basic formulas)
- Proficiency in third party vendor systems
Education and Experience:
- 2–4 year experience in a fraud/AML transaction monitoring/investigation role.
- CAMS/CFE certification preferred
- Experience in MSB, Fin-tech (Digital Wallet) space preferred
