TITLE : BUS ASSISTANT
DEPARTMENT : Transportation
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card within forty-five (45) days of employment.
- Two years experience in working with students is preferred.
- Must currently possess (or have the ability to obtain upon hire) CPR, AED and First Aid certifications.
- Any combination equivalent to training and experience that could likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
JOB GOALS :
The Bus Assistant, under the direction of the Director of Transportation, accompanies the Bus Driver and provides assistance, guidance and supervision to students with varying levels of disability (ranging from none to severe) and facilitates rider safety during transportation to and from school and during other special events such as field trips.

REPORTS TO : Director of Transportation
EVALUATION : Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the Director of Transportation in accordance with the provisions of Governing Board policy in evaluation of classified personnel.
TERMS OF
EMPLOYMENT : 9 or 10 months (depending on assignment)
SALARY : Salary for the position is set according to the Classified Salary Schedule determined by the Governing Board.
