TITLE : HIGH SCHOOL AND MIDDLE SCHOOL ASSISTANT COACH DEPARTMENT : School
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Must possess valid National Federation of High Schools (NFHS) approved Certificates in the following :
- Fundamentals of Coaching
- Concussion in Sports
- First Aid, Health & Safety
- Familiar with Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) organization and its Bylaws / Policies and Procedures and other requirements (high school level only).
- Possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card within forty-five (45) days of employment.

JOB GOALS :
The Assistant Coach carries out the objectives of the sports program as directed by the Head Coach. The Assistant Coach supports the Head Coach and instructs athletes with regard to individual and team fundamentals, strategy and physical training, while demonstrating behaviors that lead to socially acceptable character development, self discipline, self confidence, and pride of accomplishment in the student athletes. The Assistant Coach strives to further develop his / her knowledge and skills through coaching clinics, observations, consultation.

EVALUATION : Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the Head Coach and / or Athletic Director / Coordinator in accordance with Governing Board policy.

EMPLOYMENT : Specific Season (Fall / Winter / Spring)
SALARY : Salary for this position is via annual stipend and is set according to the Athletics Salary Schedule approved by the Governing Board.
FLSA STATUS : Non-Exempt
