General Purpose
This position is responsible for analyzing, examining, and evaluating credit data and financial statements to determine an estimated degree of risk associated in extending credit. Prepares qualitative and quantitative, projections, assessments as well as detailed credit narrative reports with this credit information for use in decision making.
Credit Analyst II Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Knowledge of financial documents including but not limited to the Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Statement of Cash flows and US Tax Returns.
- Analyze applicants financial status, credit, and property evaluation to determine feasibility of granting a loan.
- Provide accurate credit analysis through the analysis spreading software which will allow the lender and or committee to effectively understand the borrowers financial condition.
- Incorporate thorough and accurate commentary regarding the key risk areas or major changes that affect the financial stability of the borrowers and potential risk to the bank.
- Thorough understanding of financial accounting and analysis of commercial loan packages.
- Use financial documents and credit information to determine customer cash flow.
- Ability to thoroughly analyze credits on and independent basis.
- Generate financial ratios to evaluate customers financial condition.
- Complete credit presentations, including analyses and summaries of loan requests.
- Study economic trends of a firm(s) or individual(s) branch or industry to predict probable success of a new customer or the future success of an existing customer.
- Visit establishments with Lenders to determine the condition of plant equipment and compare methods of operation with accepted practices in the industry.
- Gather all data and information needed to ascertain the likelihood of repayment and develop a strategy for mitigating the risks associated with potential problems of repayment.
- The ability to communicate with existing customers on documentation needed as instructed.
- Compliance with requirements of Signature Banking.
Valuation & Funding Representative Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Engage appraisers and other professionals for the completion of various types of real estate appraisals and evaluations as needed for all areas of the Bank.
- Responsible for ordering commercial appraisals and evaluations from third-party vendors in support of the Banks real estate lending operations.
- Responsible for answering procedural questions from internal bank employees and fee appraisers in an informative and professional manner.
- Responsible for ensuring that real estate valuations are reasonably supported, credible and compliant with federal and state regulations; bank policies and guidelines; and industry standards.
- Monitor commercial valuation and review services to assure that they are conducted in a regulatory compliant, cost effective, and timely manner.
- Assist with retaining appraisers for the Bank fee panel which includes maintaining current sample appraisals and contacting references.
- Requesting and reviewing sample appraisals and contacting references, along with preparing the List annually for approval by the Board of Directors.
- Responsible for providing input to the lending staff in writing outside of the review process on a wide range of real estate issues, including easements, zoning, obsolescence, market information, and general asset quality.
- Responsible for attending professional continuing education courses as needed to maintain license and professional designation, if applicable, in good standing.
- Comply with requirements of Signature Banking
- Ensure contractors provide the bank with an adequate budget for construction projects
- Monitor draws and compare them with initial budget
- Provide accurate and reliable information to lenders regarding the analysis of each construction project
- Identify potential problems and bring to the attention of the lender responsible and department manager immediately
- Answer multi-line telephone and accurately take messages when necessary
- Maintain the Banks customer service expectations without sacrificing the integrity of the Banks assets
- Compose letters and other correspondence
- Compile information necessary and complete construction project related bank reports
- Fax and make copies of documents as necessary
- Perform construction progress inspections when necessary
Other Duties
- Assist Lenders in maintaining credit files including updates on financial statements and exceptions.
- Prepare reports for exams.
- Provide administrative support.
- Assist in portfolio stress testing function.
- Physically inspect real estate and obtain photos as needed.
- Conduct inspections of construction projects and determine a percentage of completion for each project.
- Assist management with Bank owned properties.
- Maintain the Banks customer service expectations without sacrificing the integrity of the Bank.
- Answer multiple line telephone and accurately take messages when necessary.
- Prepare various Board reports for the loan department.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Supervisory Duties

Knowledge:
- Accounting Background or minimum of 3 years of Financial Statement Analysis.
- General knowledge of credit reports as well as Loan to Value (LTV), Combined Loan to Value (CLTV) and debt-to-income ratios.
- Knowledge of appraisal guidelines and regulations, specifically USPAP, FIREEA, Interagency Guidelines, and FNMA selling guidance.
- Knowledge of construction and home building.
- General knowledge of all bank products and services.
- Advanced knowledge of financial spreading software (preferably Moodys), Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of the terms and vocabulary associated with loan documents, construction loans, & Contract Documents.
