General Purpose
This Human Resources Officer (HRO) is responsible to plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resource/Payroll function (HR), ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organizations mission and talent strategy. Responsibilities include developing and executing human resource strategies in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization, specifically in the functional areas of succession planning, talent management, change management, organizational and performance management, training and development, compensation, benefits, employee relations, records and record retention, labor relations, training, organizational development, safety, employee services, payroll, performance management, affirmative action and recruitment. The HRO will collaborate with senior leadership to understand the organizations goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Comply with requirements of Signature Banking.
- Set and manage related budgets.
- Represent the Bank as necessary with customers, vendors and regulatory agencies.
- Responsible for all policies and procedures relating to Human Resources and Payroll.
- Develop and direct the ethics/compliance program. Ensure the organizations compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices.
- Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organizations human resource compliance and strategy needs.
- Administers, supports and develops others in the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Implements, conducts, and facilitates results of employee moral and retention initiatives such as incentive programs, stay interviews, career development meetings, employee surveys and exit interviews.
- Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management.
- Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organizations human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management system.
¨ Establish and implement HR initiatives that effectively communicate and support the companys mission and strategic vision.
¨ Develop HR plans and strategies to support the achievement of the overall business operations objectives.
¨ Work with the company's executive management team to establish a sound plan of management succession that corresponds to the strategy and objectives of the Bank.
¨ Provide overall leadership and guidance to the HR function by overseeing talent acquisition, career development, succession planning, retention, training, leadership development, compensation and benefits globally.
¨ Manage the creation and distribution of HR-related communications ensuring consistent HR messages, policies and initiatives to employees.
¨ Promote and enhance the organizations reputation.
- Administration of the companies 401(k), to include addition and deletion of employees, ensuring accurate rates of contribution, contribution management, 401(k) Audits, etc.
- Maintenance of employee files to include input into Paylocity and AccuDoc.
- Review and corrective suggestions of annual evaluation from management before they are presented to staff.
- Retirement event planning, employee event planning, and any other employee related activities.
- Administration of the companies FMLA and CO FAMLI plans.
- Monthly Benefit Reconciliations.
- Periodic plan audits for 401k & UNUM to ensure accuracy.
- Upkeep of Phone Directory.
- Annual reporting for EEO, VETS, AAP
- Annual benefit renewal administration.
¨ Facilitate open and transparent communication.
¨ Provides internal customer service to employees needing assistance with accessing benefits.
¨ Act in a manner that reflects and supports the expected behavior of all employees.

Senior management level responsibility for providing leadership and guidance to all managers and supervisors of the Bank. This position oversees the responsibilities performed by the HR and PR staff.

Education and Experience
- A minimum of 5 years of proven HR leadership experience with an organization with over 100 employees.
- A BS/BA degree in human resources or related field preferred.
- A Professional Certification in Human Resources is preferred.
- Experience with EEOC Employer.
