Edgeland, a dynamic and growing landscape architecture and planning studio is seeking a passionate and experienced Landscape Architect/Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced studio environment, has strong technical and design capabilities and is eager to take on leadership roles within project teams. You are confident in managing complex projects, have a sharp eye for detail and excel at communicating ideas visually and verbally. You are ready to push design ideas forward, both independently and collaboratively, while mentoring junior staff.
Your Impact:
- Partnering with architects, engineers, and consultants to define project goals, budgets, deadlines, and expectations.
- Preparing and overseeing detailed construction documents, including site plans, construction details, specifications, cost estimates and bid proposals.
- Developing conceptual designs and creating high-quality presentation materials (diagrams, renderings, sections, axonometric drawings, models, etc.).
- Leading design teams to conceptualize and coordinate across mediums such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Lumion, Adobe Creative Suite, and hand graphics.
- Selecting appropriate materials, including plants, paving, furnishings, fencing and other elements to support the project vision.
- Inspecting construction sites to ensure compliance with design plans, building codes and contract documents.
- Managing client and stakeholder presentations, internal design critiques and public meeting materials.
- Contributing to the professional growth of the studio by mentoring junior team members and fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Limited travel to project sites across the state and region.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture.
- 6–10 years of professional experience in landscape architecture.
- Registered Landscape Architect in California (preferred, but not required.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Land FX, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite and other design software (Lumion is highly desirable).
- Strong technical knowledge of site development elements, construction methods and materials.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively present to clients and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

The actual offered base salary for California locations will vary depending on factors such as individual qualifications, education, experience, skills, job-related knowledge, work location, and internal equity. We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role will be at or near the top half of the range provided, but the decision will be dependent on the factors of each individual case. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation in the form of discretionary bonuses in addition to base salary and a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits. The salary range for this position is below.
