Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Buyer to join our team in the aerospace industry, focusing on turbojet engine manufacturing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for direct and indirect material procurement responsibilities to ensure on time delivery of components required for manufacture and assembly of our products. This role requires a strong technical background, exceptional critical thinking skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Successful candidate profile:
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or 3 years of applicable professional experience in procurement.
2 years of procurement experience in an aerospace or turbine/engine manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with business processes related to sourcing and purchase order management.
Direct experience with ERP systems (QAD software is a plus).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Initiative-taker with ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced changing environment.

Job description:
Key Responsibilities:
Purchase Order Management: Responsible for the direct material procurement process including planning, placement of purchase orders, and expediting purchase orders. Maintain current delivery dates on all purchase orders.
Indirect Procurement: Responsible for purchase order placement of purchase requisitions which include component repairs, balance of plant, Engineering Services, NRE, tooling, etc.
Scheduling: Component scheduling to support fulfillment and inventory requirements. Experience in purchasing hardware with 6 month lead time.
Supplier Management: Develop and manage assigned supplier relationships.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, engineering, and manufacturing, to address quality concerns and drive improvements.
Customer Satisfaction: Strong customer satisfaction mindset with ability to enhance internal/external customer relationships.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of sourcing and procurement processes.
Requirements and Work Environment:

10% of international travel to Europe is required in the first year.
Typically, in a manufacturing facility the environment can be noisy and requires the use of protective gear.
The role may involve standing, walking, and lifting, and can be physically demanding.
Able to lift to 50 pounds.
