What are the responsibilities and job description for the Account Resolution Clerk position at Pbs West?
The Account Resolution Clerk handles all clerical related duties of patient mail and correspondence assigned to the Reno Accounts Receivable and Customer Service Teams.
Primary Job Duties
- Prepares, prints, and mails out-going mail, including all papers in office, including patient receipts/ledgers, HCFAs, appeals, follow-up letters, and billing records.
- Completes daily deposit verification checks for Payment Team.
- Notifies AR supervisor(s) of returned insurance mail (i.e., claim forms, etc.).
- Prepares, signs, and mails all billing records requests, including any billing requests that need to be notarized.
- Prepares, signs, and uploads all Chart Swap billing requests.

Chart swap/Clearpath:
- Compile billing records
- Print and mail or upload to portal
- Meet with notary twice a month, signing documents in front of notary.
- Follows up with insurance company/ law office requests on documents.
- Data entry for manually processed demographics or charge information into billing software.
- Documentation of manual entered charges for appropriate reconciliation.
- Sort and organize electronic data for preservation.
- Retrieve data from a multitude of systems including EMR for manual demographic or charge entry.
- Prompt notification to the Account Resolution Manager if any missing or delayed charge or demographic information for manually processed documents.
- Meets productivity standards as published.
- Accepts and performs other work as assigned.
Competencies
- Excellent, professional, customer service telephone skills
- Efficient typing skills. Average of 40 words per minute
- Basic knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel)
- Working knowledge of office equipment, computer hardware and peripheral devices
- Understanding of Imagine billing database including Chart Swap
- Attention to detail
Required Education and Experience
1. High school diploma or GED diploma
2. 1-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area
Preferred Education and Experience
1. Two years' experience using Microsoft Office Suite
2. Proficient at Excel and Word
3. Knowledge of touch-typing system is strongly preferred
4. Working knowledge of office equipment, computer hardware and peripheral devices
5. Basic understanding of databases
6. Great attention to detail
