What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Guard position at PBS?
We are hiring security guards to join our PBS team to help create a safe and welcoming space for our local family residence client. This role will be with PBS security team to ensure the safety and comfort of their families. Security Guards must have a current NYS security license including an F-02 & F-80 licenses at time of hire.
PBS we are working with a client that operating family shelter in Brooklyn that serve as a hub of opportunity for families both residing in shelter as well as those in the neighboring community. On-site programs range from childcare, early childhood education centers, afterschool clubs and programs, and youth recreation activities, such as sports teams, to housing assistance, case management, parenting workshops, career and job vocational training, support groups and substance abuse assistance, and family engagement and recreation events for the whole family. The selected individual will patrol and secure assigned premises as well as identify risks to staff and patrons.
PAYRATE -$15-17.00 hr
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules
• Thoroughly examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure proper function and security
• Warn violators of premise rules and regulations
• Apprehend or expel persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts
• Report any facility issues such as fire hazards and leaking water pipes
• Request emergency personnel for high-risk situations ​
Qualifications:
• Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or other related fields
• Familiarity with security equipment
• Ability to handle physical workload
• Strong attention to detail
• Valid NYS Security Guard License.
• Current 8-hour certificate.
• 16-hour certificate.
• Fire Guard (F-2)
Salary : $15 - $17
