Main Job Responsibilities
- Models and provides excellent, professional customer service
- Assists the Grocery Coordinator in overseeing Grocery Department operations, including merchandising, scheduling, ordering, productivity, budgeting, inventory, gross profit, and reporting
- Helps train, supervise and evaluate all grocery department staff
- Stocks grocery displays with attention to quantity, quality, timeliness, appearance of displays, and merchandising plan
- Handles price changes and signage
- Acts as back-up to Grocery Coordinator and oversees department in the Coordinator's absence
- Participates in long and short-term department planning
- Ensures that the department sanitation, cleanliness, and safety standards are met
- Helps maintain integrity of organic standards for the bulk department

Qualifications and Skills
- Proven ability to provide excellent, professional customer service
- Must have a flexible schedule with availability to work evenings and weekends
- Ordering and inventory management skills
- Strong merchandising skills
- Demonstrated organizational and planning skills
- Excellent leadership, teambuilding, problem solving and communication skills
- Computer knowledge and skills including Microsoft Office products and file management
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Must be able to meet physical demands of position including standing, bending, twisting, repetitive motion, and lifting between 10-40lbs regularly
- A current Food Worker Card from the Washington State Department of Health is required
- If hired into this role, a Certified Food Protection Manager certification (for example ServSafe) is required (paid for by PCC)
- If hired into this role, a CPR/First Aid Certification is required (paid for by PCC)
