Medical Records Clerk
Responsibilities:
- Organize and maintain patient medical records in a medical office setting
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of medical records by verifying information and making necessary updates
- Retrieve and file medical records as needed for patient appointments and referrals
- Maintain confidentiality and security of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist healthcare providers and staff with accessing and retrieving medical records as requested
- Prepare and scan documents into electronic health record systems
- Monitor and track the release of medical records to authorized individuals or organizations
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, abbreviations, and procedures
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with electronic health record systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
