Position Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated and reliable Medical Assistant to join our team. This role will focus on supporting the day-to-day operations of the clinic, assisting healthcare providers, managing patient flow, and facilitating communication with our external billing partner. This position does not involve direct billing responsibilities but requires coordinating with the billing company to ensure accurate documentation and patient care. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, values patient care, and is skilled in multitasking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical support to physicians, including preparing patients for exams, taking vital signs, and ensuring a smooth patient experience.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records, ensuring proper documentation is captured for seamless handoff to our billing company.
- Manage patient appointments and ensure efficient clinic operations.
- Liaise with our external billing company to ensure they have accurate patient information for claims processing and assist with gathering any necessary documentation they require.
- Answer patient inquiries regarding their visits and collaborate with the billing company to ensure patients are informed of their insurance status, co-pays, and other relevant information.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming clinic environment. Help with the overall flow of patient traffic and ensure that clinic operations remain efficient.
- Ensure that all activities follow HIPAA guidelines and maintain confidentiality in all patient interactions and documentation.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or certification in medical assisting, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar healthcare role.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and scheduling systems; experience with eClinicalWorks is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and correct errors.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast-paced setting
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service with professionalism and compassion.
- Must adhere to HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
Work Schedule:
- Full-time, 8-hour shifts
- Day shifts, Monday to Friday
