The General Foremen is also responsible for managing all aspects of the crew's work including planning, production and monitoring performance. The General Foreman reports to the Project Superintendent and/or Project Manager. We are hiring multiple positions for various projects; per diem and schedules are dependent on project assignment. Job Functions
- Assist in managing, implementing, and monitoring safety and environmental programs.
- Lead tailgate meetings, conduct inspections, and perform preliminary accident/incident investigations.
- Plan, organize, and assign work to manpower crews, ensuring conformance to quality and safety standards.
- Manage the storage, security, and maintenance of specific tools and manuals.
- Produce Supervisor Daily Work Plans and communicate goals to crews.
- Provide input on cost-saving methods related to manpower, scheduling, and materials.
- Manage, receive, and report materials used on site.
- Monitor crew productivity, track man hours and materials for work performed.
- Complete employee review forms for hourly trades crew members.
- Supervise one or more project crews, providing guidance, training, and mentoring.
- Assisting the Project Superintendent in the supervision of subcontractors
- Identifying high potential employees and encouraging their career development through mentoring and reporting to the Project Superintendent
- Minimum 5 years of industry experience.
- At least 18 months working as a General Foreman.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Compliance with all PCL policies, procedures, and safety rules.
- Pass a pre-employment physical examination, DOT and/or Non-DOT drug/alcohol screen, and background check.
- Ability to communicate and understand verbal and written instructions in English.
- Ability to understand and interpret construction drawing and specifications.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Computer savvy.
- Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces above- or below-ground level, such as: towers, vessels, scaffolding, excavations, etc.
- Able to carry 50 lbs. of tools and/or materials without assistance.
