PCM Services is seeking a skilled and dedicated commercial carpenter who will be working with wood and other finishing materials to execute a range of responsibilities, including drywall framing and installation, drywall finishing, acoustical ceiling systems, and the installation of doors, metal frames, and associated hardware.
Responsibilities:
- Execute general carpentry and handyman tasks as assigned, which may range from single day to multi-week projects.
- Review project schedules, job sheets, and instructions provided by the Production Manager to fully understand requirements. Identify and procure necessary tools, materials, and safety equipment (PPE) for each task, and seek clarification from the Production Manager as needed.
- Coordinate with the Production Manager to arrange for the procurement of special-order materials or equipment from the warehouse, or to obtain approval for purchasing new materials or equipment as required for the task.
- Report to designated job sites as scheduled and check in with the on-site contact if one is provided.
- Provide daily updates to the Production Manager, including hours worked, progress reports, estimated completion times, and any relevant photos.
- Conduct daily site maintenance by cleaning up job materials, disposing of trash and debris, and ensuring that no safety hazards remain at the end of each shift
- Promptly inform the Production Manager of any issues, including but not limited to absences or tardiness, job site access problems, project delays, client inquiries or additional requests not specified in the job sheet, crew member issues, or any damages incurred on site
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of commercial carpentry experience required, including expertise in drywall installation and finishing, acoustical ceilings, and the installation of doors, metal frames, and hardware
- US Citizen (Required)
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and occasional night shifts, as needed
- Supervisory experience is highly desirable
- Possession of a reliable work van or truck is advantageous; a vehicle allowance will be provided
- DOT license (Preferred)
- Proficiency in carpentry, including drywall framing, finishing, and acoustical ceiling installation
- Strong math skills, including basic trigonometry, for calculating areas, sizes, and material requirements
- Physical strength and endurance, including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, climb, or bend for extended periods
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to follow instructions and complete work within allocated budgeted hours
- Adherence to safety standards and ensuring compliance among the crew
