Essential Functions of Director of Dining Services:
- Leadership: Oversee daily dining operations, ensuring quality and compliance.
- Menu Creation: Design resident-focused menus, addressing dietary needs and preferences.
- Staff Management: Hire, train, evaluate, and manage dining staff.
- Customer Satisfaction: Ensure a positive dining experience and resolve issues promptly.
- Food Prep: Supervise cooking to maintain quality and consistency.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure cleanliness and adherence to food safety standards.
- Cost Control: Manage food and labor costs within budget.
- Special Diets: Work with dietitian to develop balanced menus for special diets.
- Inventory & Purchasing: Oversee inventory and food supply ordering.
- Health Inspections: Represent the community during health inspections.
- Training: Provide ongoing food handling and service training.
Non-Essential Functions for Director of Dining Services:
- Ensure adherence to grooming and uniform policies.
- Assist with special events and Manager on Duty program.
- Maintain positive relationships with residents and staff.
Qualifications & Skills for Director of Dining Services:
- Education: Culinary Arts degree or 5 years of food service management experience.
- Certifications: ServSafe Certified.
- Licensing: Must meet local and state food handling requirements.
- Experience: Experience with senior populations preferred.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, time management, and budget control. Critical thinking and conflict resolution skills required.
