About the job:
This position is responsible for planning and organizing Warehouse activities in order to meet on-time delivery and productivity targets. The Planner ensures optimal use of resources (people and equipment) in order to meet customer requirements, without sacrificing safety or quality.
What you will be doing:
- Directs the hourly workforce to ensure that targets are met for on time delivery, productivity, throughput time, safety, and quality.
- Makes decisions regarding:
- Meeting delivery and throughput deadlines
- Maintaining the proper flow of work from inventory to the production floor, Blanks, Samples and all Outside Contractors. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring proper inventory rotation (FIFO), restocks of Primary and Secondary locations and ultimately performing proper RTS functions.
- Workplace cleanliness and orderliness
- Workplace safety, in particular the authority to stop and report to a supervisor any activity that is deemed unsafe or that may pose risk of injury to any employee or company property.
- Communicates staff issues such as individual/shift performance to Leads/Supervisors.
- Works from the daily schedule to ensure that daily activity is properly prioritized.
- Reports any personnel-related issues to the Warehouse Supervisor. These include, but are not limited to, interpersonal conflicts between employees, insubordination, policy violations, etc.
- Maintains a good hand-off with clear lines of communication to the next shift.
- Uses all available information to make the best use of equipment and labor capacity.
- Reports equipment and facility maintenance needs to the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Communicates ideas and information to Supervisors and Managers.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Warehouse Supervisor / Manager.
- Handles batch and wave orders to move product to Production
- Creates transfers, restocks and/or manual picks for product movement within the warehouse.
- Monitors service desk requests, administers work pool including work prioritization and assignment
- Works with Logistics to verify inventory levels and research and correct inventory shortages
- Troubleshoot exceptions and system issues.
- Assist and train Warehouse operators in the resolution of RF scanner issues
- Provide quick response, clear communication, follow up and updates for all production department queries and issues.
What you will need to bring to the role:
Required
- Must be able to prioritize and track multiple workflows/order picks.
- Ability to use RF and WMS systems and operate forklifts and trucks safely.
- Must have a strong ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
- Strong verbal and written skills, with the ability to maintain email etiquette and/or professionalism in all communications
Are you the right fit?
- High School or equivalent
- Minimum 6 months experience in similar position
- Experience with Powerhouse WMS and RF scanners preferred
- Experience with Great Plains, Dynamics and other Leed’s applications preferred
- Forklift Certified preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds; must be able to operate various forklifts, pallet jacks, dollies, box trucks and other warehouse equipment as needed.
