PCI is currently hiring an Control Panel / Field Technician to join our growing team. To be successful in this role you need to be self-motivated, reliable, flexible and have a high level of integrity.
Job Duties
The functions include, but are not limited to the following :
Layout and Mounting of components to back panels and enclosures
Routing and building of wire cables neatly to meet wiring standards
Read and understand equipment wiring prints
Travel to customer plants to install or repair equipment as needed. Possible long term, local customer site opportunities
Point to point wiring of relays, controls, PLC’s, I / O Modules, VFD’s and Instrumentation
Troubleshoot panels as needed to eliminate wiring errors
Maintain red line drawing mark-ups of changes required during fabrication and communicate that to the appropriate parties
Operate Mechanical, Hydraulic and Electric Conduit Benders – size pipe ¾” to 4”
Install cables and cable trays
Rough in, device, fixture, and panel connections
Understand and follow internal and external customer health and safety requirements
Perform other duties as needed
Requirements :
Fluent ability in reading a tape measure and using other basic tools
Ability to understand and work from schematics is a plus
Knowledge of electrical theory and terminology is a plus but not required
Working within a robust industrial safety program environment
Thorough understanding of electrical, motor control and lower voltage systems
Understand electrical circuits concepts & Theory (Single Phase, Three Phase, AC and DC Electricity, 240V high leg system, wire colors, and test equipment)
Ability to push, pull and lift up to 50lbs on occasion, stand, bend, stoop, squat, reach and sit for long periods of time
Not be afraid of heights or confined spaces
Have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Ability to work occasional overtime
High School Graduate or equivalent. Technical school attendance a plus
A high standard of quality and attention to detail
An understanding of general industrial facility maintenance needs
