What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Machinist (2nd Shift) position at PCS Company?
Position Summary
Sets up, checks programs and operates CNC machining equipment to efficiently perform a complex series of progressive machining operations to meet precise tolerance and finish requirements per customer or catalog specifications. Loads parts in machine, cycles machine, detects malfunctions in machine operations such as worn or damaged cutting tools. This position is an intermediate level CNC Machinist position for a horizontal machining center.
Principle Responsibilities
Understands program format, works from operational data, defining and coding tooling, fixture, and machine arrangements.
Arranges, mounts and secures tooling and fixtures.
Sets stops and calibrates fixture to appropriate reference points.
Performs typical machine shop operations which include computer numerical control machines.
Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to management or designee.
Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition.
Must be able to perform the following tasks: milling, drilling, tapping, de-burring, sawing, and sand blasting.
Perform inspection of machined products (including documentation of results).
Complete paperwork as required.
Adheres to the company’s safety policies and procedures.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Skills Required
Intermediate Computer knowledge.
Must be able to read and interpret drawings, follow routers, use simple math to perform basic calculations, and use basic hand held measuring tools.
Physical Strength – must be able to frequently lift/push/pull objects that are 40 pounds or lighter.
Understanding of company quality and safety standards.
Knowledgeable of Mold Base assembly and components.
Substantial CAD CAM and/or Master CAM or SolidWorks/CAMWorks knowledge for the generation of tool paths (tool selection and posting of the cutter path).
Education
High School Diploma or GED.
Work Experience
Minimum two (2) to four (4) years of experience in related field.
