Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' mental well-being.
- Observe and document clients' behavior and progress, reporting any significant changes to the appropriate personnel.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's specific needs, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Support clients in social activities and community engagement to promote inclusion and interaction.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other caregivers to ensure comprehensive care.
- Engage residents in a positive manner.
- Prepare and serve meals and snacks in a timely manner
- Clean up as necessary during and after meals
- Clean up should be done during food prep and after meals
- Engage in daily physical activities with residents
- Ensure that inventories are kept current
- Clean floors, kitchen and bathrooms as needed
- Document all tracking sheets as necessary throughout the shift
Must complete all mandatory trainings as they are offered
Requirements
- Previous experience in home care, assisted living, or nursing home settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with medication administration and patient observation techniques is highly desirable.
- Strong caregiving skills with the ability to provide compassionate support to individuals with diverse needs.
- Knowledge of working with people with intellectual/developmental disabilities a plus.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and team members.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
