Heat Furnace Operator
8-5pm
$20-28 hourly
Qualifications, Education, and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Heat Treating experience preferred
- Must meet the ITAR definition of §120.15 U.S. person
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications- Word, Excel, Outlook required
- Experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment, aerospace industry preferred
- The ability to work efficiently with others or independently as required
- Integrity and conscientiousness in all work-related matters
- Complex problem solving with critical math skills
- Operate overhead crane or other lifting equipment when necessary
- Frequently use gross and fine motor skills to manage various parts, tools, and tooling
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color perception, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 20/20 vision (natural or corrected) required with ability to pass annual vision test as required
Essential Duties:
Reporting to the Shift Supervisor and Braze / Heat Treat Engineer, the operator is responsible for following all policies and procedures associated with the various parts and equipment that he or she will be trained and certified to run.
- Maintain working knowledge of thermocouples, proper placement, and application techniques
- Verifies conformance of finished parts, through hardness testing and visual inspection of braze joints
- Maintain working knowledge of proper temperature, vacuum, cooling rates, and working zones within the furnace
- Keep detailed records of thermocouple placement, key points of cycle, and dewpoint of quenching gasses
- Perform Daily inspections of furnace chamber, shielding and heating elements, tooling cleanliness, and proper oil levels
- Perform Alloy application to customer parts using nickel-based alloys
- Perform various checks, including, but not limited to, SAT probe checks, leak rate checks, and burnouts
- Set-up and operate machines, load/unload parts, and communicate changes and results (in writing and verbally) while adhering to a strict time schedule
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
- Maintains equipment by adhering to maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling maintenance for repairs per engineer instructions as needed
- Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
- Documents actions by completing production and quality logs
- This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customer’s inventory and as such will perform duties safely and responsibly to prevent customer loss or damage
- Perform under AS9100 quality standards and NADCAP accreditation
