PCSI is looking for an Electronics Technician Lead at our Fort Knox site! The Electronics Technician Lead will perform functions of the contract by directing and scheduling workers and operational tasks to include troubleshooting and programming building controls programs. This position will report to the Electrical Supervisor and is based at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Typical work hours will be Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

What You'll Do as an Electronics Technician Lead:

  • Directing and scheduling workers and operational tasks to include troubleshooting and programming building controls programs.
  • Training and mentoring maintenance workers to perform a variety of tasks.
  • Tracking service orders for quality and completion.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain processes and systems that meet or exceed quality standards and are within budget.
  • Provide monthly report to supervisor to communicate team accomplishments or challenges within area of responsibility. Recommended solutions of options to promote the success of individuals and team should accompany any challenges identified.
  • Perform work IAW Performance Work Statement (PWS) and all approved training documents.
  • Perform troubleshooting vital comfort, energy, indoor air quality, safety, and fire and safety devices, providing systems operations data and trend logging reports, and managing BAS access and privileges for technicians based on their job responsibilities.
  • Maintains, repairs, and installs various types of electronic equipment and related devices such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment.
  • Repair and reprogram various controls and programs on front end servers.
  • Monitor building energy management controls through various IT networks.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, or replace and install controls such as sensors, relays, actuators, electrical components, and wiring.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, or replace and install Variable Frequency Drives and motors.
  • Direct and train lower-level technicians in troubleshooting, repair, and programming energy management systems and associated components.
  • Applies technical knowledge of electronic principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skill in restoring equipment operations.
  • Applies comprehensive technical knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting manufacturers’ manuals or similar documents.
  • Work requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence and in selecting tools and testing instruments.
  • Receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician, and work is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices.
  • May provide technical guidance to lower-level technicians.

What You'll Need to Be Successful:

  • Must have at least five (5) years of experience in building control systems, construction, building maintenance
  • and mechanical systems, including relevant experience troubleshooting and repairing Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems.
  • Must be able to effectively read, write, and speak the English language.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and climb ladders. Frequently required to kneel, squat, bend, and reach.
  • Required to be able to lift 50 lbs. up to 10 times per day.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of multiple communications protocols including DMS, BacNet, Lon Works, Siemens, and Tridium to update and maintain the graphical web interface that enables monitoring and diagnosis.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people.
  • Ability to read and understand control drawings, electronic schematics, electrical diagrams, and construction drawings.
  • In depth knowledge of electronic, electrical, mechanical systems, and digital or pneumatic controls.
  • Ability to understand AC/DC electrical systems related to controls.
  • Must be computer literate with working knowledge of programming.
  • Ability to work as a team member
  • Self-starter, able to work with minimal direction and supervision.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to pass criminal, drug, and driving screening.
  • Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
  • Possess valid driver’s license and maintain good driving record.
  • If required, ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access to assigned site(s).
