What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Apprentice position at PCX Aerosystems, LLC?
The Manufacturing Apprentice will participate in a 10-month program to learn and work in machining and/or inspection to determine a discipline to move into at the end of the program. The program will provide a well-rounded understanding of the business. The Manufacturing Apprentice will train on 1st shift and should be flexible to work on 1st or 2nd shift and have an interest in manufacturing gears, from a machining and inspection aspect.
Responsibilities:
- Operate milling and turning machinery as required with supervision.
- Use manual inspection equipment as required, e.g. height stands, micrometers, indicators, dial bores, verniers, etc.
- Work with aerospace materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, magnesium, titanium, and nickel alloys.
- Read/interpret operation sheets and work instructions.
- Adhere to established policies and company procedures and standard work.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives utilizing lean manufacturing tools and techniques.
- Document and communicate manufacturing performance issues to maintain continuity between shifts and decrease machine downtime.
- Maintain work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
- Follow all safety policies, rules, and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned by Leads, Supervisors and/or Managers.
